Greetings

  • Greetings from over the fence! We are thinking of you all and missing seeing your faces at school and in the parking lot. This is a really difficult time for all of us and everyone is experiencing this pandemic in their own way. We want to let you know that your parent club is here for you and wants to offer support and help. Please reach out and connect if you want to talk or be connected to resources in the community. Lets replace the term the term "social distancing" with "physical distancing"

  • LMS NEWS FOR PARENTS: ParentVue Verification

Beginning May 1, LOSD needs parents/guardians of all students enrolled for the 2020-21 school year to log into ParentVUE and review/update your students' information through the Register/Verify tab.

This benefits both families and schools by:
      • Ensuring that schools have accurate information to reach parents and other contacts in both emergency and non-emergency situations. Verification is important even if your contact information has not changed over the past year because the school may have incorrect information from a previous year.

      • Allowing parents to review the health conditions on file at your student's school.

      • Enabling distribution of electronic devices covered by the district's Technology Agreement

If you have forgotten your ParentVUE password, go to the login page, click "I am a Parent," then click "Forgot Password." For assistance with the verification process, refer to the user guide on the LOSD website Please note that verification is not part of the ParentVUE mobile app. However, a button in the app allows you to open verification in a web browser, or you can log into ParentVUE on a computer.

  • LMS NEWS FOR PARENTS: Updates to ParentVue/StudentVue Grades

This month you will begin to see in Synergy a report showing whether your child participated in classes each week. Each Monday evening, LMS will update Synergy, and if your child has a P, then they were engaged in our work from the previous week. If they have a blank, then they did not participate in that class for the whole week.

In cases where LMS has no engagement, the school will be reaching out to you and your child to determine what supports are needed to re-engage.

Overall course grades will display as N/A because we want students to focus on staying engaged and connected without stressing about overall grades. At the end of year, students who have been engaged will receive "P" grades consistent with guidance from the Oregon Department of Education.

It is an excellent practice to support your children by checking the school-wide planner for assignments and Google Classrooms for specific directions on assignments.
